SAEAS  is excited to provide Abaraka Award grants for African-American women, as a new initiative designed to assist early- to mid-career visual artists nationally.

We seek to assist visual artists who demonstrate a commitment to their craft and artistic communities. The funding is intended to further the recipients’ artistic practices and encourage career longevity.

Each artist grant is awarded to fund production of a multi-piece visual art project that will be exhibited when the artist may be at a critical stage in her career and where this funding would have the most impact.
